My Escalade's engine is ticking and I'm worried it's serious

I'm really hoping someone here can give me some advice because I'm starting to lose sleep over this. My 2017 Cadillac Escalade with the 6.2L V8 has developed this ticking noise that seems to be getting louder, especially when the engine is cold and first started in the morning. It sort of sounds like a lifter tick but I've read horror stories about the AFM (active fuel management) system on these engines failing and causing camshaft and lifter damage, which can be a massive repair bill. The truck has about 95,000 km on it and I've always used the recommended oil and serviced it regularly, but I know these engines can have issues regardless of maintenance. I'm honestly scared to keep driving it in case something catastrophic fails, but I also don't want to overreact and spend thousands if it's something minor. A friend of mine who works in the automotive industry mentioned that finding a specialist who knows these GM V8s inside out is crucial to prevent engine damage Cadillac Al Quoz has some good independent shops that work on these trucks all the time and know exactly what to look for with the AFM issues. Has anyone here had lifter or camshaft problems on their Escalade or similar GM truck and can tell me what symptoms they experienced and what the repair actually cost? I'm trying to figure out if I should trade it in or fix it.
