Anyone else feel like Cadillacs need extra TLC in this climate?

I've had my Escalade for about three years now, and honestly, it's been a dream to drive, but I'm starting to notice little things that I didn't expect, like the leather on the dashboard feeling a bit drier than it should and some slight hesitation in the AC when it's really baking outside. I've always just taken it to the general dealer for servicing, but I'm starting to wonder if they actually know the quirks of these American cars or if they're just treating it like any other vehicle on the road. I've been reading up on how specific the electronics and cooling systems are on these models and I'm thinking I really need to find a place that specializes in this brand, especially since we're heading into the peak summer months. A friend at work mentioned that looking into something like Premium Cadillac Maintenance in Abu Dhabi is the only way to make sure the car doesn't start developing those annoying electrical gremlins that everyone talks about. I'm curious if any of you guys have switched from the dealer to an independent specialist and noticed a real difference in the quality of care, or if it's all just the same in the end.

Dry dash leather in that heat is normal, honestly. A decent UV protectant and a sunshade will do more than any service visit. The AC hesitation is different though, that could be a low refrigerant charge or a blend door actuator starting to go.

Switched from the dealer to an independent guy about two years ago and never looked back. He actually plugged in a proper scan tool and showed me the codes instead of just saying "it's fine." Cost me nearly half too, and the work was better.

Not sure "specialist" always means better. Some of them just charge extra for the badge. Ask whether they have the GM diagnostic software and how many Escalades they see in a month before you commit.

The cooling system on those is worth checking before peak summer, coolant condition, condenser fins clogged with sand, and the electric fan operation. Sand and dust choke condensers quicker than people think. I'd also pull the cabin filter, mine was completely packed after one season.

What year is your Escalade? The AC hesitation might be worth logging, does it happen at idle or while driving? Also curious whether the dealer ever mentioned any software updates for the HVAC module when you took it in.
