Rough idle and hesitation – injectors or something else?

Post by keithmarsden »

I've got a 2015 Wrangler JK with about 120,000 km on the clock and lately it's been idling rough when I'm stopped at lights, almost like a small misfire, but no check engine light has come on yet. Also feels a bit sluggish when I first press the gas from a standstill, especially in this heat. I've already changed the spark plugs and cleaned the throttle body, but the problem came back after a few days. A buddy who works on his own Jeep mentioned it could be dirty fuel injectors, especially because I sometimes fill up from random stations in more remote areas when I'm out camping. I've been looking into Skilled Injector Cleaning Mussafah as an option because replacing all six injectors would be seriously expensive. Has anyone here done a professional injector cleaning on a Pentastar engine and actually noticed a difference? I'm wondering if it's worth trying before I go down the rabbit hole of fuel pressure tests or coil replacements. Also any idea what a proper ultrasonic cleaning should cost around here? I'm in Abu Dhabi but happy to drive to Mussafah if there's a place that really knows Jeeps. Just trying to be smart about this.
